Title: State Mandated Drug Diversion

Description: This is a state mandated course for all healthcare providers authorized to prescribe controlled substances. The Health-Related Licensing Boards and agencies, including the Board of Optometry, are required to mandate this course for all its licensees. The course addresses the responsibilities of each provider to utilize the controlled substance data base to determine cases of doctor shopping and other violations of the controlled substance act. The course also covers newly enacted laws which place limitations on units of controlled medications and other restrictions on prescriptions.
